The Fukushima Hobbit/Gypsy/Nomad

After the Nuclear melt down he had a choice-

Mochizuki Cheshire Iori

Since working with a family business, he had a decision to make after the melt downs and explosions at Fukushima- to stay or to go.

Coming from ground zero, his choice, to him was simple.... evacuate.

Trying to convey this to those still numbed by the earthquake, tsunami and eventual nuclear crisis was extremely difficult.

Those who could listen, were still numbed by the excessive catastrophe surrounding them. Perhaps this is why so many people were paralysed, and so, even now.

Travelling the globe, on the good will of others, savings, and his donations from his web site for demystifying the Japanese documentation and translations, he continues to plead for the evacuation of the people affected.

We had both followed the crisis and met on a French Face Book page that was trying to disseminate the scat news that was available; and, after many pages were silenced on the internet decided the best collation device was to open multiple sites to disseminate as much information as was made available.

We had a two hour interview last year, but the recording was corrupted in the finally stages; happily the information he shared is well documented elsewhere.

He resides somewhere in Eastern Europe (location undisclosed for relevant reasons), and has travelled Europe and the US continuing his quest for openness, transparency and justice.

If you are following the dilemma that the Globe is covering up, please visit his site.

People from Tokyo area report thyroid cysts and nodules — Japanese doctors laughing at patients (VIDEO)

Both doctors [who traveled to the area] are very angry about the Fukushima Prefecture government’s handling of Patients with thyroid disorder. That is, no secondary testing in two years. It is internationally agreed upon within the medical community to control such patients by repeated testing at least once in 6 months, and every two months in more serious cases.

Among the 336 hours of new footage include scenes from the morning of April 2, 2011, in which TEPCO confirmed leaks of high-level radioactive waters into the sea from Unit 2 after it had experienced a core meltdown. “We have confirmed a worst situation. Water containing extremely high levels of radiation are flowing into the sea,” Masao Yoshida, then manager of the plant, says in the footage.

Fukushima worst confirmed, radiated children need evacuation!!!!

Child holding sign, 'Radiation level doesn't go down.' Radiating Japanese children increasing
Evidence has been released Friday showing new radiation is leaking at Fukushima's nuclear power plant as its operator TEPCO disclosed more video recordings of its in-house teleconferences in the early phase of the 2011 catastrophe, showing employees' tense communications before radioactive water was released into the sea. The UN calling for TEPCO and the government to observe health rights earlier this week has prompted an urgent international petition to evacuate radiated children.

“We have confirmed a worst situation — Water containing extremely high levels of radiation flowing into sea,” Masao Yoshida, then manager of the plant, says in new video footage of early days of the Fukushima catastrophe....

...President of The Institute for Energy and Environmental Research Arjun Makhijani told NBC News TODAY radiation is being released....

...As many as 300,000 Japanese children are being radiated daily. The radiation level is increasing....

Responding to the right to health being violated in Japan, the World Network for Saving Children from Radiation is circulating two urgent petitions for action involving children and radioactive contamination from the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear disaster as the United Nations special rapporteur on the right to health released a statement saying the Japanese government and TEPCO must do more to help radiation victims from the Fukushima triple meltdown.

...The United Nations special rapporteur on the right to health, Anand Grover, operating in a position not established until this century, reports that Japan and TEPCO must do more to help those exposed to radiation from the Fukushima triple meltdown...

The right to health report recommendations include: reducing contamination to within background levels, strengthening food contamination monitoring, and allowing full participation by citizens by using contamination data they generate, giving them money to leave contaminated areas for safer ones, and giving them their own and their children's medical records.

"Now, more than one and a half years after the nuclear accident, 260,000 Japanese children are still living in the catastrophe’s radioactive contamination,"

One petition is directs Japanese authorities to evacuate children to non-contaminated areas of Japan. The other calls for justice and accountability following the widely recognized “man-made” nuclear disaster for which to date not one single person has been held accountable.

[Reference] Nobody listens to the speech of JP Ex-PM Kan/ the Fukushima Nomad

FUKUSHIMA DIARY: (support if you can)

This friend survives on donation alone and is the original 'Fukushima Gypsy'
He spends his time moving around the world, and interprets the Japanese situation from many sources.
I personally had a 2 hour interview with him and am aware of his sincerity, as he evacuated from Fukushima.

(This is not an article, this is a reference. The source is merely a Japanese forum though the pictures are not fake.)

Japan is going to have the next election on 12/16.
The ex-Prime minister Kan has speeches on the street but the audience is miserably few.
He turned to be anti-nuclear. However, though he was the only one who could have decided to evacuate everyone, or shut down Fukushima plant somehow, he did not do neither of them.

Gov't must do more to address people's radiation fear: U.N. rep

By Kyoko Hasegawa

Gov't must do more to address people's radiation fear: U.N. repA boy is scanned for radiation after the tsunami hit the Japanese nuclear plantAFP

The Japanese government should do more to address fears over radiation in the area around Fukushima, a U.N. health expert said Monday, urging it to consult those affected by nuclear pollution.
Anand Grover, U.N. Special Rapporteur on the right to health, told reporters the government needed to depend less on experts and give more information directly to people living with nuclear fears.

The government’s initial threshold for evacuation of 20 millisieverts per year “conveyed the message that effective radiation doses up to” that level were safe.
He said the “inconsistency” between that limit and the 5-millisievert dose allowed around Chernobyl before mandatory resettlement after its nuclear catastrophe “created confusion among a significant number of the local population, who increasingly doubt government data and policy.”
Asked about how to clear up the confusion and reassure people, he urged the government not to rely too much on specialists. “I personally think experts know only part of the situation. Communities must be involved,” he said.

“As for internal radiation exposure… there is a view among scientists legitimately that there is no danger from exposure between zero and 100 millisieverts, but that is controversial,” he said. “The government has to err on the side of caution and be inclusive.”

Fukushima conscription by volunteering?

In October, Tepco decided to send all the employees for Fukushima. This is mandatory and they have to go twice or three times a year.
However, this would be still not enough to take the human-wave tactics to decommission Fukushima plant.
What some of the Japanese people are afraid of is that the government impose the idea on people that going to Fukushima plant is patriotic. (meaning, un-patriotic people would not go to Fukushima plant.)
Japanese government took the same tactics during WWW2 to recruit students for army. People were called “Hikokumin (=Un-Japanese)” if they reject going to the battle field and oppose the war.
Japanese people tend to have strong group mind and they are very sensitive for peer pressure so this propaganda can easily control Japanese people.
They have already started sending high school students to the disaster area for clean up the debris etc..It’s likely that they make it a credit necessary to graduate from schools to go to Fukushima (plant).
In Chernobyl, 600,000 ~ 800,000 workers were conscripted to settle down the plant. Most of them are told to have already died.

Most Fukushima nuke plant workers ineligible for free cancer checks

Workers dispose of their protective gear at their base in Naraha, Fukushima Prefecture, after working at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant. (Asahi Shimbun file photo)

This is incredible........

Workers dispose of their protective gear at their base in Naraha, Fukushima Prefecture, after working at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant. (Asahi Shimbun file photo)

Of the many thousands of workers who have risked radiation exposure at the crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, only a paltry 3.7 percent are eligible for free cancer screenings provided by the government and Tokyo Electric Power Co.

The percentage represents 904 people among 24,118 who have worked at the facility since the onset of the disaster in March 2011 to September this year.

The low rate is because the government and plant operator TEPCO limited the scope of free screenings to those who were exposed to radiation of more than 50 millisieverts between March 11, 2011, and mid-December 2011, when the central government announced that reactor meltdowns triggered by the magnitude-9.0 earthquake and tsunami were under control....

In September, it was found that total radiation exposure topped 50 millisieverts in 24 workers. But 22 of them, excluding two TEPCO employees who are covered by special measures, are not eligible for the free examinations.....

In August, TEPCO said free screenings would be expanded to workers exposed to more than 50 millisieverts by the time of the declaration. This made 663 workers eligible.

An additional measure was introduced that offers free checks to TEPCO employees engaged in specific work, if their exposure levels exceed 50 millisieverts after the declaration, adding 74 more to the eligible list.

In September alone, 27 people received radiation between 10-20 millisieverts at the plant....

Under the current system for free checks, workers are not eligible unless they have a figure exceeding 50 millisieverts.

Serious wrongdoing has emerged in relation to radiation exposure.

It turned out that some employees were forced to work without dosimeters and others were forced to use dosimeters covered by lead plates to keep readings low. That means there could be workers not eligible for free screenings who have actually received high doses.

Monthly round up for Fukushima

Rather than needlessly quote I thought I might summarise what I have researched, that can easily be researched from the internet and MSM as factual.

During the last month we have had several important updates as to the situation at Fukushima.

First and foremost is the lack of continued "altruistic" reporting from both the Government and TEPCO in regard to monitoring; being at least 10% below the true amount based on ascertaitions that the "batteries" were shielded.... ( see below for link), meaning that over 500 machines will be modified; (that being, what was the true dose since the inception of the monitoring program?)

The official University Hospital of Fukushima heads, have made statements about the growth of thyroid cancers and cysts within children detected as the following:

· Unknown amount and size unreported

· Lies that children develop thyroid disease more slowly that adults

· One Government check denying any abnormalities, discludes the child from further testing

· Any abnormality found to induce cancer would be easily treated id 3-5 years time

This is an extremely cautious and misleading statement. I find it obtuse in the realm of profound. They negate the fact that which is prevalent, yet purport to be able to ‘deal with it’ if it arises….

TEPCO have doubled their bill for compensation from the Government to 11 Billion. One might ask ‘compensation’ for what? As a layman, you would expect heavy fines for dumping left over commercial barrels into a river, but an ongoing 4+ nuclear melt down?

The waters in Tokyo are in trouble. Where they have surreptitiously dumped high reading waste into the waterways and harbour (as documented), and are now increasing to almost double of which they were at before the beginning of the crisis.

Another interesting article, is that (to the preceding forepoint), that a mother had both children tested for thyroid cysts by the government, and then proceeded to have private check and both were at dubiously scandalous ends of the scale…..

Parks in and around the country are dumping what other countries would consider ‘nuclear waste’ within gardens, parks and playgrounds. With little or no notification, these are placed in the outskirts of said areas with nothing more that tape-rope, or witches hats…..

Finally, on a positive note, the Fukushima barefoot foot race, was delimited, by conscience vote, to 30 meters, as participants made silent protest to the ongoing saga….

2/3 of available staff, are no longer available to participate in the Fukushima decommissioning due to higher than yearly dose limits.

Fukushima tobacco contaminated with radiation: orders cancelled

<snip from ABC>
By North Asia correspondent Mark Willacy

Posted Thu Oct 11, 2012 6:17pm AEDT

Japan's largest cigarette maker has cancelled the purchase of tobacco leaves from Fukushima after they were found to be contaminated with elevated levels of radiation.

Japan Tobacco says routine checks of dried tobacco leaves from Fukushima have revealed that some of the crop is contaminated with radioactive caesium above the company's safety limit.

now the real news.....

smoking is the most affective ways of internally irradiating the body.... one hot particle into the lungs.... you're a guess......

[link to]

another point.. is that smoking was rather benign BEFORE nuclear was on the rise.

one more fact.. they use tabacco and other fast growing plants ie: sunflowers et al; to decontaminate.....

further- our fast second life of early cesium has past.. we now look toward the 50 year model, regardless of Uranium, Plutonium etc.....
